Getting Started....

Hey All!

So I've finally enetered into the world of blogging so I may document studying abroad with the Gonzaga School of Law in Florence, Italy and subsequent trips to Poland and Germany this summer.

First, I should probably explain my title. I know it's not terribly clever if you don't know what jus gentium means, so here's the definition:

jus gentium (pronounced jus jen-shee-uhm): [Latin "law of nations"] 1. International Law. 2. Roman law. The body of law, taken to be common to all civilized peoples, and applied in dealing with the relations between Roman citizens and foreigners. - Also termed jus inter gentes.

Given I'll be studying International Criminal Law and Justice & Society while in Italy for four weeks, I thought it quite fitting.

Anyway, this is just an introductory post to familiarize you all with the blog. I'll be hopping on a plane to Rome on May 20th, five days after my last final of my first year at the University of Idaho College of Law. I'll land in Rome on May 21st, spend my first two days there and then catch a train to Florence on May 23rd, where I will settle into my apartment with roommates Josie and Laura from the University of San Francisco - I'm looking forward to meeting them.

Look forward to traveling blog posts in a couple weeks!

Ciao Bella!
